This is a clonal selection of Paradis‑Jaune‑de‑Metz (EM 9) obtained initially by the Station of East Malling (EM) in England. Then pre-treatment in the centers of East Malling and Long Ashton (EMLA), this clone is exempt from all viruses.
This rootstock presents a perfect homogeneity and an excellent affinity with all varieties of apples. Its fruit set is very rapid, its productivity regular and it results in a good fruit caliber.
Not very robust, very close to PAJAM® 2, perhaps superior, it is to be used in intensive orchards. Nevertheless, its weak anchorage requires a wiring or a trellis system.
It is not sensitive to rejections or to burls.
