The varieties are grafted on Juglans Regia (common walnut), robust rootstock adapts well in clay-limestone soils and in open, deep soils. It resists better to drought than Juglans Nigra.
For intense cultivation, the varieties are grafted on Juglans Nigra (black American walnut). This rootstock is demanding on the soil and requires rich, deep, fresh or irrigated and well drained terrains.  It resists well to rot.

The FRANQUETTE variety:

  • Large elongated fruit of good quality.
  • The most widely cultivated and the best adapted to intensive orchards.
